The Income Raised on Passenger Trips.
As recorded in the purpose and arrangements mentioned earlier in this web site, the railway income is very modest and there is no charge to organisers. Income is used in three ways.
1.On the day a proportion is given to the event if requested. The remainder is banked seperate to my personal funds from which is drawn
2.insurance and railway needs costs.
3.Donations to other causes here and there, as requests and inspiration arises. Many drop through my letter box and I can only be somewhat selective and also I think it wise to sustain a fair railway bank credit balance.
I do not think it fair for any organiser to expect the whole of an income to be given to their cause. Petrol and vehicle costs are met out of my own living budget. Neither do I think it kind to expect me to attend a very small function when the passenger number potential is likely to be very low. Need I say a lot of time and effort is involved.
Over the years the mini railway has raised some thousands of pounds. For example over 12yrs 2000 to 2011, averageing 28 events per year. The railway has donated in total £5,090 for the whole of that period. The railway income is not a public concern but between me and those who invite the railways attendance.
